Cookie policy
This page explains what information is stored on your device when you visit OffgridCamper.nl.
Last updated: 22 August 2026
This website does not set cookies
No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no tracking cookies, no social-media cookies. That is also why you do not see a consent banner on this website. The only thing stored is your choice of light or dark display, and that stays on your own device.
1.What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your computer, tablet or smartphone and that is sent back to that website on a later visit. Cookies are used, among other things, to remember preferences, keep visitor statistics or track browsing for advertising.
Besides cookies there are similar techniques that store information on your device, such as localStorage. The difference is that localStorage is not sent to the server automatically: those data stay locally in your browser.
2.Which cookies do we use?
None. OffgridCamper.nl does not set any cookie itself. In concrete terms that means:
| Type | Used? |
|---|---|
| Analytics cookies (statistics) | No |
| Advertising and tracking cookies | No |
| Social-media cookies | No |
| Conversion or sales cookies | No |
| Functional cookies | No |
3.What your browser stores locally: your display preference
This website has a button to switch between light and dark display. When you use it, your own browser stores that choice in the local storage of your device. Those data are not sent to us and we do not keep any of them ourselves:
- Technique
- localStorage (not a cookie)
- Key
- theme
- Contents
- the value "light" or "dark"
- Purpose
- remember your chosen display on a later visit
- Where stored
- only in your own browser, on your own device
- Retention
- until you clear your browser storage
- Sent to us?
- no — we never receive these data
4.Why do we not ask for consent?
Consent is legally required for setting cookies or reading information on your device, except when that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have expressly requested.
Storing your display preference happens only when you yourself click the button, serves only to carry out the choice you asked for, and is not used to track or analyse you. This storage therefore falls under the exception and does not require consent.
Will this change in the future? If we ever introduce visitor statistics or other tracking techniques, we will update this policy and ask for your consent beforehand via a consent banner.
5.Third-party content
Some of the images on this website are loaded directly from servers of manufacturers and image libraries. Your browser then connects to those servers, so your IP address and browser data are passed to those parties. We have no control over what those parties in turn place on your device.
When you follow a link to an external website, that website's cookie policy applies. Read that policy if you want to know which cookies are set there.
6.Deleting stored data
You can clear this website's local storage at any time in your browser settings, usually under "Privacy and security" or "Clear browsing data". Choose the option for cookies and site data there.
If you delete these data, the website falls back to the default light display. Nothing else is lost, because nothing else is stored.
7.More information
