Privacy policy

This notice explains which personal data OffgridCamper.nl processes, why that happens and which rights you have.

Last updated: 22 August 2026

In short

  • We do not use analytics or tracking software.
  • We do not set cookies for statistics, advertising or profiling.
  • There are no accounts and no newsletter. The only form is the contact form — you fill it in only if you want to reach us yourself.
  • We do not sell or share data with third parties for commercial purposes.

1.Controller

OffgridCamper.nl is a personal, non-commercial project run by a private individual. No company, legal entity or organisation is involved.

The operator of the website is the controller within the meaning of the GDPR. For questions about this privacy policy or about exercising your rights, you can reach him via the contact page. Questions are answered personally.

2.Which data we process

This website is deliberately minimal. There is no registration, login, comment function or newsletter sign-up.

a) Data you enter yourself via the contact form

When you use the contact form, we process your name, your email address, the subject you entered and the content of your message. These data are sent to us by email. We do not store them in a database and we do not use them for other purposes.

b) Data that arise automatically when you visit

Date and time of your visitHosting provider's server log files
Page requested and status codeHosting provider's server log files
Browser type and operating systemHosting provider's server log files
Referring page (referrer)Hosting provider's server log files

These data are not used to identify or track individual visitors, and they are not linked to other data sources.

3.Purposes and legal basis

Contact form. We use the data you enter solely to read and reply to your message. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by deliberately filling in and sending the form (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in handling questions addressed to us.

Server log files. We process these so the website works technically, to keep it available and secure, to detect abuse and attacks and to trace technical faults. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in a secure, stable and properly functioning website.

There is no profiling or automated decision-making, and your data are not used for advertising.

4.Local storage in your browser

When you use the light/dark display button, your preference is stored in the local storage (localStorage) of your own browser, under the key theme.

These data stay on your own device, are not sent to us or to third parties and contain no personal data. You can delete them at any time in your browser settings. See also our cookie policy.

5.External images and links

Some of the images on this website are loaded directly from third-party servers, such as manufacturers and image libraries. Your browser then connects to those servers, so your IP address and browser data are passed to those parties. We have no control over that.

The same applies when you follow a link to an external website. Those websites are governed by that party's privacy policy, not ours.

6.Recipients and processors

We use the following service providers, who act as processors on our instructions:

  • Vercel Inc. — hosting of the website and management of the server log files.
  • Resend — sending of the email that is created when you submit the contact form.

Where personal data are processed outside the European Economic Area in that context, this is done on the basis of the appropriate safeguards required by the GDPR, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

We do not provide personal data to other third parties, unless we are legally required to do so.

7.Retention period

Contact messages we keep in our mailbox for as long as needed to handle your question and any follow-up questions, and then we delete them. You can ask at any time for your message to be deleted sooner.

Server log files are kept by the hosting provider only briefly, for security and troubleshooting, and are then deleted automatically. We do not keep a separate copy of these log files ourselves and we do not build a visitor database.

8.Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • ask for access to the personal data we process;
  • have inaccurate data corrected or completed;
  • have your data erased;
  • have the processing restricted;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest;
  • receive your data in a commonly used format.

In practice. If you have never sent us a message, we hold no data with which we can identify you as an individual: there are no accounts and no tracking data. A request then cannot be linked to a person — that is not a refusal, but a consequence of the fact that nothing is stored. If you did email us via the contact form, your request concerns that email correspondence and we will carry it out.

9.Right to complain

If you believe we are processing your personal data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority:

  • Belgium — Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit (GBA), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussel
  • The Netherlands — Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP), Postbus 93374, 2509 AJ Den Haag

You can lodge your complaint with the authority of your place of habitual residence.

10.Security

The website is offered only over a secure connection (HTTPS). We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data processed via the website against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

11.Changes

We may update this privacy policy when the way the website works or the rules give reason to do so. The date at the top of this page shows when the text was last updated. We recommend checking this page again from time to time.
